The Flight to Bangkok 2

We have been flying for over six hours and we are still in North America (Anchorage, Alaska to be precise).

Now for a few hours of reading, my music creates comforting bubble from home. The Kindle DX is proving to be a worthy replacement for the book and MP3 player.

It is 10:41 AM in Bangkok,(10:41 PM in Montreal) and I’m feeling reasonably awake. It is entirely dark inside the plane, but bright sun shines all the way since climbing over the clouds in Toronto. I’m chasing the sun at 856 kilometres per hour. The daylight never ends when flying in this direction.
Midnight in Montreal! (Noon in Bangkok) I should be landing in Tokyo in two hours.

The washrooms are much like our airport. I was a bit disappointed when they looked just like ours, so I checked out a few more and there were four specialized models, one with a sign indicating air blowing at a bum logo, the other had a large handle along the right side of the bowl, it reminded me of the collective control next to the pilot’s seat in  a helicopter. The third was a “stand up” model I assumed they made it available to people unfamiliar with the seated position  or unhappy with the hygiene of our North American standard model.  I had a very tight connection and so didn’t explore much.

I took no photographs because there is a strong atmosphere of rules and no nonsense at the gate.

Signs warning that the free WiFi must be used on this table only; seemed a little humourless.  WiFi is courtesy of Google.
