Choosing a Help Desk server.

I like Web Help Desk, not because it is particularly easy to use by personnel, but because it is complete and ties in with existing resources such as LDAP, asset discovery protocols Spiceworks and SolarWinds.  Clients find the self-service features (FAQ, ticket creation) easy to use.

The Web Help Desk is notable as one of the earliest web-based help desk solutions[citation needed], and as one of the only commercial software packages using WebObjects as the development platform[citation needed]—the same server side frameworks used by iTunes and the Apple Online Store[citation needed]. The application is also notable as an example of how a small ISV successfully transitioned a niche, Mac-only, application into a widely distributed cross-platform solution.[4] It is used by Apple Inc., and other major technology, manufacturing, and media corporations such as Lockheed MartinSony Pictures Entertainment, and Time Warner Cable, as well as many major universities.[5]Web Help Desk - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
