Movie: Hugo (2011)

I enjoyed Hugo the movie in 3D, an unexpected combination of reality and fiction. Despite being set in the 1930s grit of Montparnasse train station it is so clean it takes on a fairy tale look.
The effects work all the time, and the story veers off just when you expect it to slide into tedium. Well done. I learned a lot about the time line from the invention of cinema to early silent movies. Some call it "Victorian Cinema" and the period lasted almost 40 years!
