I have been using IP addresses 192.168.1.1 for ever, like changing our phone system, we are moving to IPv6 with a more intimidating format 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334.. IPv4 only allowed 4 billion addresses, the new system with 128 bits allows 10^38. I'm not so sure it is so large since we will be assigning addresses to everything from the lamp on my desk to my refrigerator everywhere. That's a lot of "wheres".
the last two IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) address blocks for the Internet have just been assigned, and, in line with predictions, we’ve run out of addresses. All new Internet addresses now employ IPv6 address spacing.
