- Click the Table Move handle to select the table so you can apply formatting to the entire table.
- Click and hold the mouse to drag the table to another position—this is especially handy when you insert a table at the beginning of a new page and then realize you want to add text at the top of the page, above the table.
- Double-click to open the Table Properties dialog box (in Word 2003).
- Click and press Backspace to delete the entire table and its contents (in Page Layout view in Word 2007 and 2010 ).
- Click and press Delete to delete only the table’s contents (in Page Layout view in Word 2007 and 2010).
