Magnolia acuminata

Positively identified in our backyard. It never flowers due to heavy shade and our location outside it's native area. Oh well, we will do our bit to save it. There are only 200 specimens in Ontario it seems.

Magnolia acuminata - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "They are tricky to transplant due to their coarse, fleshy root system and should be planted shallow and moved in early spring with a good soil ball."
