Converting Audio Cassette to Audio CD format

  1. I play the tape and record it using Audacity software.
  2. Then add labels at the beginning of each song
Details: Splitting recordings into separate tracks - Audacity Wiki
(no need to write the names unless you really want to waste a lot of time. Just let the software number them when you save the WAV files for later burning)
  3. In windows, make a folder to store the WAV files for each song.
  4. Export using File > Export Multiple to WAV and choose numbering consecutively; use the album name for "File name Prefix".
  5. Using Media Player burn using File Open the Folder and select the files
  6. Press copy to CD (takes about 10 minutes to automatically convert and burn)

This can be used to make MP3 formatted files as well.
