Off to Montreal

7:30 we leave the room. Preparations have been made for theNew Year's Eve party tonight. I wander the site one more tie before leaving for the bus. Our flight is at noon. Everyone speaks some english, but it's nice to banter in spanish from time to time. Waiting for our flight.

News & views from other passengers.
Telamar resort is a 10 minute walk to downtown Tela and makes for a nice outing. Copan is a 5 hour ride from there, an so more doable; sadly the site is difficult to visit being on three levels and only 30% uncovered; one cannot climb the pyramids which makes the visit less intesting. The The 10 hour bus ride is luxurious.
Telamar resort is in two parts the older part has bungallows on stilts where one can see the earth between the floorboards. The newer (upgrade fee) part is very nice and near the pool and beach.
The hotsprings outing is a nice supprise, after climbing the falls over meter wide hanging bridges, one reaches the top pool of boiling water, which is mixed with cooler wate and brought to spa temperatures. Lower pools grow cooler. A Mudbath is offered ath end of the tour. All were enchanted with the outing. It is near the Palma Real hotel.
The island of Roatan was very much a tourist resort. With 8 cruise ships per week, it's own airport, an english speaking population it has all the makings of a higher priced attraction. World class diving and snorkling don't hurt either. I'm happy I gave it a miss. One can easily replace the 120 USD airfare with the 40 USD ferry. Both couples reported just wandering around, taking in the sights and coming back.
