Brushing up on my statistics.
While average wages are rising, median wages are dropping (relatively).
It's time we insisted politicians and media use grown up words when presenting "facts".
Strangely, statistics used by politicians are meaningless. They never use the word median, always average (a rather useless term).

Another pointless number: GDP per Capita, only shows how, while our coutries are getting richer, the salaries are not rising I wonder...
Based on GDP would you move to Equatorial Guinea? What's wrong with this picture?
| Equatorial Guinea | Australia | Iraq (war torn) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| GDP per capita (PPP) | $31,837 (2009) | $39,231 (2009) | $1,900 |
| Biggest export | Oil | Coal | Oil |
| Life expectancy | 49.5 | 80.6 | 69.3 |
| Infant mortality | 87 | 5 | 68 |
