Extending our Neo-cortex
Artificial Intelligence attempts to make machines that think. But I submit that our neo-cortext can think but often just needs more data. The first solutions will automate the delivery of data based on the environment your smart device finds itself in.
Eventually the synthetic neo-cortex will decode information directly from your thoughts and return information to the relevant part of the neo-cortex for further processing.
I imagine every part of the neo-cortex would be attached to the synthetic neo-cortex through specialized processors. The language area to the text searches in google, the visual cortex attached to image searches and tags, etc. I imagine and endless progression of such ever more specialized implants would feed information back for your consumption.
I often stop a train of thought for want of information.
