If you are not testing like PISA, what are you testing?

PISA is the standard test for comparing students achievement from all countries.

I always felt that a student who used something from the classroom in their personal life was a high achiever. It turns out PISA testing assumes this level of understanding to be the minimum standard for competency.

So, I must aim higher when testing my students. As in the PISA question format, my tests must show that the learned skill can be applied in the real world.

Andreas Schleicher walks us through the PISA test, a global measurement that ranks countries against one another -- then uses that same data to help schools improve. Watch to find out where your country stacks up, and learn the single factor that makes some systems outperform others.
