Design outside your silo

Good services come from thinking outside your silo, (we used to say outside the box).

Examples from the conference:
Sometimes doing what you don't have to can GREATLY IMPROVE the user experience.
  • Taxis with Iphone chargers in the backseat.
  • Nike+ ads that talk about what you do with your "good looking body" instead of the sneakers. 
  • Neff oven repair, seamless information from the client, the website (listed the ovens' serial number), to sales pitching an accessory, to support requesting the serial number and the technician fixing the stove (texting his arrival, bringing the parts and the accessory "just in case").

  • Only a total experience designer would have dared think .... to create an experience as seamless as Neff's. 
  • Find the cracks down which their experience would fall... uncover opportunities nobody else does.
