Why share precious resources?

We tell kids to share. Not just because it's nice to share, but because it makes all our lives more pleasant and effortless. I have been surveying the art of sharing and found that:

• Most online shared resources are not recent productions; but most topics can be used for years. (example: language courses, basic math, etc)
  

• To share "the good stuff" we like to know who we are sharing with, to judge if they are deserving.
