Moses Naluiyuq spends the night on an ice floe

Moses, a 60 year old Inuit hunter, left his skidoo by the sea ice and walked out to find a seal. Just before lunch on Saturday, the westerlies broke off the small ice floe he was standing on and he drifted out to sea. The heavy ice fog prevented the rest of his teammates from finding him despite their best efforts in canoes. The waves splashed up on the tiny ice floe, and so he couldn't lay on it and spent the entire night praying standing in the intense cold and wind. The following morning near 5 AM, the tide and an easterly blew him back to shore near Deception Bay. His suit was covered with ice. Exhausted and thirsty, he wandered back to a fresh skidoo trail and collapsed for a short rest. Eventually he was picked up and returned safely to Salluit. He was heard yesterday, singing his joy to all on the local radio.  He is currently under medical supervision in POV.
