   The "Spirit of Ecstasy" (standing version) was designed for Rolls Royce by Charles Sykes in 1911. In 1934, Sykes produced a new kneeling version which would better suit the lower body lines of the 1930's saloons such as the 25/30, Phantom III, Wraith and Silver Wraith. This mascot continued to be used after the war on the new Silver Wraith and Silver Dawn, but from then onwards all models used the original 1911 version.
