Figueres - Theatre - Museum Dali

Beautiful Chamartin train station

9:30 (actually 9:45) train to Figueres arrive at 11:30. First the Toy museum (a trip through memory lane) then the Dali Museum. Just a lovely walk from the train to the museum. The Dali museum is full of suprises and very well designed. The stereoscopic paintings require you to put your nose on the glass (or just about). We spent almost 3 hours (being Dali fans) not counting the museum of the jewellery he designed. Figueres is a basic Spanish town, nice an clean, lots of squares (more Sycamore (in spanish: platano)trees). We ate a snack in the park. There was a large busy market when we arrived, but it was entirely gone but for a coke can as we walked back through it to the train station.

It rained heavily on our way in to Barcelona, Gracia station just 1 km north of our hotel. So we ducked into El Corte Inglés for dinner, but the menu was expensive and the food did not look apetizing, so we went on to our favourite place Pizza Marzano (excellent food, perfect decor, reasonable prices, varied menu, perfect service).

D´autres nouvelles bientot.
