This technique is for creating a form in word using a scanned or downloaded image of a form.

  1. Find a form using Google.com images (choose “large images” to save time)make sure the image is at least 1000 pixels wide for clarity.
  2. Copy and paste the image to your Word Header
  3. Resize the image and “Send it behind text”Use whole page to see what you are doingUse CROP to remove parts of the image. You may copy and paste the image to PAINT to remove blemishes and paste it back to word to continue.
  4. Cover the page with returns and match the font size, so your document lines up with the lines in the imagesometimes it is easier to match them using a table and Row Height/Exact..
  5. Insert Text Form Fields, Checkboxes or Drop Down Lists where requiredUse tabs (or ctrl Tab if in a table) to align your insertion point with the form.Use ALT DRAG to accurately position your insertion point.Try ZOOM to 150% for more accuracy.
  6. Lock your form and test it, unlock it.
