IntroductionIn his book, 101 Ways To Promote Yourself, sales and marketing expert Raleigh Pinskey lists the 10 deadly sins of sales brochures. Make sure you're not making any of these common mistakes:
1. Not using a headline, graphic element, or photo on the first page or cover to draw the reader into the brochure
2. Using too much text and not putting enough information in 'bullet' form
3. Not using testimonials from satisfied customers or industry experts
4. Not listing a client list -- at least a partial one
5. Using big words when small words will do
6. Using industry buzz words, jargon, and cliches
7. Using dated material
8. Listing information--instead of being creative
9. Forgetting to give the reader many different options for how to contact your company
10. Letting your ego run away with the brochure
